Splitting the Hedge

Some say crossing the veil is rare, reserved for the chosen few. I say—we were born to it. Splitting the hedge has always come naturally to me, even as a child. I didn’t have a teacher, but the path revealed itself, and today I want to share how it feels, why it matters, and how you can begin.

What It Means

Sometimes the veil opens just enough to create a new reality. I call this a quantum time leap. Everything looks the same, yet the energy has shifted. Time feels bent, colors turn slightly muted—and life will never be quite what it was before.

At times, I see a door, appearing like a haze or fog. These doors are invitations: opportunities to receive messages and glimpse other realms.

Other times, it feels like my eyes are blurring and I’m sitting in the center of a bubble. This is the universe revealing itself, offering a choice: lean in, listen, and open—or retreat.

And then there are the moments that come most naturally—usually at night, as I drift toward sleep—when I simply become the void. This is where souls are walked and where we travel astrally. Helping the dead to cross over into the Light is part of this work. Don’t worry—you don’t have to search for it. The path will appear when it’s time.

The Difference Between Them

People often confuse these experiences—so let me be clear. A quantum time leap, lucid dreaming, astral projection, splitting the hedge, and walking souls are not the same thing.

But here’s the key: you reach them through the same doorway.

  • Quantum Time Leap – When the veil opens just enough to shift your reality. Life looks familiar, but time bends and the energy is different.

  • Lucid Dreaming – When you’re asleep but aware, able to see and direct yourself within the dream.

  • Astral Projection – When your awareness travels outside your body into other realms, often consciously directed.

  • Splitting the Hedge – The act of crossing the veil itself, stepping into the in-between where messages and encounters happen.

  • Walking Souls – A calling that arises from the void—guiding the dead toward the Light when they appear.

All of these journeys may begin the same way—through rocking, through water, through the void—but where you arrive depends on what the universe is opening to you in that moment.

Why It Matters

If you could step forward and hand your request directly to the universe, would you? That’s what this gift feels like.

But with it comes responsibility. You will know more than others may know about themselves. And with the light comes shadow: those in need may notice you as someone who can help them cross.

If that happens, set boundaries. For example, if a spirit presses in too strongly, ask them to shift their vibration—or simply say you’re not available right now. Remember, you are never without choice.

How to Begin

We are not separate from the elements—we are the elements. When we connect with them, they recognize us as part of themselves. We do not command. We merge. We become whole.

To split the hedge, begin with water.

Water is the primordial womb, the source of creation, the seat of intuition and the subconscious. It is deep, healing, and transformative. We are born of water; we are made mostly of water. You’ve always been able to connect.

Think of rocking. As children, we were soothed by it. I still rock all day—while channeling, for comfort, for peace. Rocking is important. It’s a natural rhythm of water.

Rock in a chair. Rock in a boat. Move in the bath until you make your own waves. Find ways to invite that motion into your body. Then, when you lie down to rest, let yourself keep rocking inward. Drift into the void—the black space behind your eyes. Imagine this dream state as the cosmic womb, and allow yourself to be held.

At first, you may simply fall asleep. That’s okay. That’s where much of the work happens. Your body remembers. With time, you’ll notice that you’re both asleep and aware, light as a feather, able to direct yourself. This is the beginning of intentionally splitting the veil.

You can anchor this practice with ritual. Place a bowl of water on your altar—it is both an offering to wet the tongues of your ancestors and a portal for contact and travel. Light a candle to guide them, and let your gaze rest on the flame until you begin to feel the rocking again.

Once the rocking returns, you are ready. You have split the veil. You may not always see it, but you will feel the shift. Sometimes it will appear only to you—and that’s enough. It’s real.

And if, just once in your life, you catch it on film as I did—share it. Let others know the veil is alive, waiting, and within reach.

Closing

The hedge is not a wall. It’s a doorway. It doesn’t keep you out—it waits for you to step in.

If this speaks to you, try the rocking practice, light a candle, and listen. Then make sure to share your experience. Our magic is strongest when it’s witnessed together.
